  • Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Third Expansion Teased at Ubisoft Forward E3 Event | TheOnesWhoCameBefore

Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Third Expansion Teased at Ubisoft Forward E3 Event News Share 16 Jun 2021 Written By: Edited By: Colum Blackett (Col_96) Ashlea Blackett Back To Database E3 2021 kicked off with Ubisoft Forward, an hour-long event where Ubisoft showcased a number of upcoming titles. The show featured a glimpse at several new impressive looking games, such as Far Cry 6, Rainbow Six Extraction and Avatar Frontiers of Pandora. Fans of Assassin's Creed were given a first look at the Siege of Paris expansion, which is set to launch in Summer 2021. It was announced that Black Box Missions (from Unity and Syndicate) would be returning, suggesting that players will be infiltrating hideouts to eliminate targets in the DLC. Assassin's Creed Valhalla Discovery Tour was also revealed, a combat-free historical tool that explores the ordinary lives of those living in 9th Century Britain, and provides educational resources for those looking to learn more about the era. A new game mode titled 'Mastery Challenges' also made an appearance (out now), along with the highly-requested one-handed sword options, which will be added to the game over the coming weeks. Basim's robes cemented Ubisoft's dedication to Valhalla free content, as the company looks to keep players engaged for longer with 'live games' that continuously release new features. As the section on Assassin's Creed came to a close, Ubisoft teased that Valhalla will be getting a second year of live content, including unannounced expansions and many more surprises. It is currently unknown if a second season pass purchase will be required to access the year 2 content. The short teaser for the third Assassin's Creed Valhalla DLC hinted that Odin would return to confront Eivor, and that a new realm would be accessible. Seeing the teaser for the first time, you could be forgiven in thinking it was a glimpse at an upcoming Elder Scrolls game, as it resembles the gates featured in TES IV Oblivion. At the end of the show, Yves Guillemot reflected on a 'difficult year' for the company, but failed to acknowledge the elephant in the room. After a full year of misconduct allegations and investigations within the company, his message missed the mark, and felt hollow for many fans. This really was disappointing, but overall, it was a pretty good show that showcased a nice range of upcoming games. It's an exciting time to be an Assassin's Creed fan, with year 2 of Valhalla content and a ton of transmedia material such as a Netflix TV show (Transmedia Roadmap article) to look forward to. As always, we stand with the victims, and the AC Sisterhood / #HoldUbisoftAccountable movements. • “Database Entry Added”: A Look at ACToys’ Assassin's Creed Character Blind Box | TheOnesWhoCameBefore

“Database Entry Added”: A Look at ACToys’ Assassin's Creed Character Blind Box Reviews Share 18 Jul 2022 Written By: Edited By: Michael Smith Colum Blackett Back To Database Assassin's Creed Blind-Box Vinyl Figure Case of 6: "Assassin's Creed" is an action-adventure game series developed by Ubisoft Montreal Studio. The game series is an action game with a high degree of freedom and beautiful graphics as its biggest selling point. Players will control an assassin in each game, bringing players a deep sense of substitution by cleverly interspersing important historical figures and historical events in the mission. Each Assassin's Creed Blind-Box Vinyl Figure Case includes 6x blind packaged figures. Please note: Item selection is random. Items are in blind packaging. We cannot accept requests for specific items, nor can we accept returns on opened items. You may receive duplicates.Breakdown not available at this time. Our factory package guarantees that there will be no missing or duplication of characters in a set, as long as the agent does not change the package. Welcome to another Assassin's Creed merchandise review, this time, unboxing the new Assassin's Creed Character Blind Box figures by AC Toys, who we would like to thank for sending a review copy. Blind boxes originated in Japan as fukubukuro (Japanese for “lucky bag”) during the 1980s, and were sold during the New Year as a random assortment of items at a discounted price. The excitement of not knowing what you would receive made these a very popular gift and would have people lined up for blocks to get one for themself. Over the course of the last decade this trend has seen a spike in popularity with the growing trend of unboxing videos, loot crates in video games, and collectors attempting to complete the full set of all the prizes one would find in a series of blind boxes. Blind boxes can be found for all kinds of pop culture, from artistic pieces produced by brands like TokiDoki with various colours or designs of unicorns, to video games such as Overwatch with small representations of the characters in their roster. Boxes are sold individually or in cases that would contain multiple figures in small bags or packaging. The average blind box would show the various items one could obtain when opening the surprise pack and would include the odds of finding each character based on the number of boxes purchased (though not guaranteed). Blind boxes that would list items as a 1:5 would be something that you could find easily and possibly receive duplicates, whereas a 1:50 odds would mean you as the consumer would have a better chance of locating a rare figure if you purchased an equivalent number of blind boxes. Rare, or “Chase” figures would normally be included in a series as the “holy grail” of said release and in my experience would be hidden even further by depicting the item on the packaging as a silhouette instead of an image of the item itself. Ubisoft has worked with blind box lines in the past, releasing small cartoon style figures from Jazwares, the previous manufacturer of their collectable action figures, to keychains or “hangers” of characters from the Assassin’s Creed franchise. While they are no longer sold in stores, these collectibles can be found on sites like Ebay or other digital marketplaces in bulk at various prices based on the popularity of the series or the popularity of the individual character. Retail stores would even have exclusive characters that you could only find by purchasing the blind box at their store, marked with a “Only at” or “Exclusive” label on the packaging. I myself has purchased a full case of the Jazware blind boxes to find a full set with a few duplicate Assassins and learned after that the American video game store, GameStop had a limited “Master Ezio” in his black robes from Assassin’s Creed Revelations that I had to purchase separately at a higher price due to its rarity. It had been a long time since Ubisoft had released any form of blind box for its properties as they had a larger focus on individual series of figures or statues such as their “Ubisoft Heroes” collection. Then in January of 2022, ACToys, a Chinese figure manufacturer, teased on Twitter that a new line of their pre-painted figures were coming for Assassin’s Creed. The figures were visible enough in the image (shown below) to see who was going to be included, but not so clear that you could see the details of each character. Two days later, they unveiled the full set of six characters from Assassin’s Creed, three pairings from the Ezio Collection, AC III, and Black Flag. Fans took to the artistic style of these figures immediately and began asking if they would be available worldwide. Seeing characters such as Leonardo Da Vinci and Haytham Kenway, who did not have a lot of representation in merchandise previously, made fans even more excited. Unfortunately, fans would learn that the figures would be sold only in China and other Asian markets. However, at the time of this article, I have been able to find import shops which offer worldwide shipping such as Entertainment Earth, and Big Bad Toy Store that are taking pre-orders for the series that is set to be available in October 2022. The Ones Who Came Before were given the chance to preview these figures thanks to ACToys who sent a case of six blind boxes to myself for review. In the continuing text of this article, I will give my honest opinion of these figures and why I think it is worth trying to purchase a set for yourself as a collector or fan of the Assassin’s Creed games. I received the box in mid-July and from the start knew this was a quality product based on the packaging of the case alone. As shown in the image above, the case included six blind boxes with the collector's guide displayed on both the case and individual box sides. The case itself is perforated in two locations, on the lid so that it can be folded to display the Assassin’s Creed logo (as shown) and diagonally from the top of the case at the back, to the lower front end where removing the excess packaging would display the boxes in a tray that makes removing them easier for a retail environment. I personally won't be doing the latter of the display options as it would remove the listing of certain characters with the torn section. On the packaging next to the image of each character, is their name in Japanese, however, the odds of finding each figure are not stated, as I was sent a full case which included one of each character. This is beneficial for those that want to collect a full set, but can make it difficult to find the character of your choice when purchasing individually as there is no way to tell which character is in which box. On the back of the packaging is a warning that the figures are suitable for players over 15 years old and that these are for display only and could be damaged if played with. As most of the figures include small parts such as swords or an arrow, there is always the worry of smaller children misusing the product or trying to consume it. The figures are packaged in a locking plastic mold and covered with a thin sheet of plastic to protect the figure during transportation. Each character (regardless of faction affiliation) comes with a plastic base that resembles cobblestone flooring displaying the Assassin insignia. Small pegs will hold the character securely in place, allowing them to stand up. While these figures do not have movable limbs, the accessories can be positioned as you see fit. In addition, each figure is accompanied by an art card with the character’s image and name displayed, the back of which shows the same design as the one on the front of the blind box. The figures stand at 10.5 cm with the 7 cm diameter baseplate and weigh around 65 grams. The first character I unpackaged was Ezio Auditore staged in his iconic pose from the cover of Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. His detailed white robes with Assassin insignia, bracers and double hidden blades (which are sharp at the points, ouch!) are present. His face is shown with his characteristic smirk and very vibrant hazel/brown eyes. The detail of the paint work by artist Alohell, even shows the scar on Ezio’s lip that he received from a thrown rock by rival Vieri de’ Pazzi at the beginning of Assassin’s Creed II. To partner with Ezio is his close friend, the artist and inventor Leonardo da Vinci. Based on his character art from Assassin’s Creed II, Leonardo holds a compass and his flying machine replica that was scaled for use by Ezio when infiltrating the Palazzo Ducale to save the Doge of Venice, Giovanni Mocenigo. From Assassin’s Creed III, Ratonhnhaké:ton, better known as Connor Kenway, comes with his bow and a single arrow that is knocked into his hand. With this figure, it took me a bit to balance the arrow as everytime I picked it up it would fall off. I fixed this by paying closer attention to where I was setting the arrow and making sure that it was pushed into the groove of his fingers correctly. I also was disappointed that his face is not as visible as the other characters but this is due to the design being based on the artwork of the game where his face is hidden as well. I enjoy the figure regardless, but I do favor the others more. The second figure from AC III is Haytham Kenway, Connor’s father. I had trouble finding the affiliated artwork that this design of the Templar Grandmaster was based on. He comes with an attachable sword and wields his hidden blade that he stole from the Assassin Miko during Assassin’s Creed II. Haytham’s face shows his age through the fold lines on his skin, and the back of his cape shows the Templar Cross in its design. Finally from Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag comes the duo of Edward Kenway and Edward “Blackbeard” Thatch, pirates in the Golden Age of Piracy. Both figures come with an attachable sword (or two in Blackbead’s case), and are based on official artwork from the game. Out of all of the characters in this series, I find these two to be my favorites as Kenway’s design was instantly recognizable from the cover of the game’s art book, and I have always loved the character Blackbead as he was depicted in the game. Unlike Leonardo and Haytham, Blackbeard has had previous merchandise releases so this new figure is a great addition to any Assassin’s Creed or pirate fan. ACToys’ Assassin’s Creed Blind Boxes retail for 95 Yuan (£11.86 GBS/$14.06 USD) and again are available for purchase in China exclusively. However, as I stated at the start of this article, I have been able to locate full sets for roughly $100 USD online. ACToys has stated in response to multiple inquiries on Twitter that they are looking at expanding into additional international markets, but do not have any additional information on when this could happen. As a pre-order bonus or early adopter bonus, a limited edition metal pin of Leonardo’s flying machine is packaged within the box with Leonardo, so fans that purchase a box could get that extra bonus for free! I asked ACToys for the number of pins that were produced but they are keeping that information close to the chest, so if you have interest in these, I would look at getting a set as soon as you can. Fans also asked about missing favorites such as Altaïr Ibn-LaʼAhad from the first Assassin’s Creed game and ACToys replied and confirmed with myself via private message that they are in active discussions with Ubisoft about a second series of figures. For fun, I think the following characters should be used for the second wave of figures. From Assassin’s Creed, Altaïr and his mentor Al Mualim. From Assassin’s Creed Unity, Arno Dorian and Élise de la Serre. From Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, Jacob and Evie Frye or Henry Green as a standalone character. From Assassin’s Creed Origins, Bayek of Siwa and Aya of Alexandria. From Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Kassandra and her brother Alexios (Deimos), I would also love to see Barnabus or Herodotus as well. From Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Evior Varinsdottir and Basim Ibn Ishaq as we have not received any figure or statue of the Assassin yet. What characters would you like to see ACToys produce in a future series? As someone who loves Assassins Creed, I had to get them. There isn't a lot of merchandise for stuff like this in my country so seeing them made me so happy. AND I got the Leo pin, so even better. I love these guys, their designs are on point and the quality is absolutely amazing. If they ever do make more series of them with other assassins and allies, then I would happily go broke XD. For ideas, I would say they should do characters such as Altair (and maybe a good combo would be with Malik or Maria), Arno (either with Elise as said, or adding to the historical figure allies, even Napoleon), Jacob and Evie together definitely, and all others mentioned above already. Maybe even assassins like Aveline or throw in Shay to add in with the AC III boys, then in that case characters like Adewale, Yusuf, Greenie ext. would also be nice fits. I would definitely be willing to complete the collection if they continued to make them <3. • This Week in Assassin's Creed Virtual Photography: 6th - 12th August 2022 | TheOnesWhoCameBefore

This Week in Assassin's Creed Virtual Photography: 6th - 12th August 2022 Community Share 13 Aug 2022 Written By: Edited By: Aaron Young Ashlea Blackett Back To Database Welcome to our weekly virtual photography roundup hosted by Aaron Young from The AC Partnership Program. Every week I will be picking our top 5 favourite Assassin’s Creed shots and showcasing them on The Ones Who Came Before website, in order to promote virtual photography and talented content creators within the community. Aaron is a keen virtual photographer and loves to post his journeys through Assassin’s Creed on Twitter. Keep an eye on the site as more weekly shots are added, we are looking for capture across all Assassin’s Creed games. Tag your photos to the #TOWCBWeeklyCapture for a chance to be featured. 1) Cloak Game: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Platform: PS5 This week’s first capture comes from @ Junos_Wings over on Twitter. First up this week we have a bit of nostalgia, with Eivor dressed in Ezio’s Master Assassin outfit. I love the colour tones of this shot, as it add a certain quality to the photo. The light and the dark make for great symbolism of what Assassin’s Creed is all about. The shot is from a set that is truly beautiful and inspiring. Captures showcasing old outfits in the newer games give us a sense of what a next gen Ezio game would look like. Link to set 2) Huntress Game: Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Photo number two comes from @ Birgamerinalbu1 over on Twitter. Next up we head to Greece for a bit of Kassandra dressed as a true huntress. This photo reminds me of the Assassin’s Creed graphic novels. From memory there wasn’t a comic to go alongside Odyssey which is a shame. I am always a fan of people getting creative with their virtual photography. The lighting behind Kassandra really helps accentuate her magnificent hair, but also does a great job of highlighting the incredible face paint of this set. 3) Desmond Game: Assassin’s Creed III This week’s third shot comes from @ FrameHoldPhotos , a member of our Assassin’s Creed VP Twitter Community. Photo number three takes us to this week’s AC15 celebration with Desmond, the modern assassin. This is the first time I have featured a modern day piece of VP and I am shocked these section don’t get more love. This capture really does give us an insight into what a modern day game could feel like. I always prefer the historical stuff but I would 100% love a modern day game or even a substantial DLC. Hoods, bows and swords in a city would be like AC meets Marvel and I would be down for that. 4) Wolf Game: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Platform: Xbox Series S VP number four comes from @ Huldera1 a member of our Assassin’s Creed VP Twitter Community. I always enjoy wildlife shots from Assassin’s Creed games. The way the animals interact in the world is truly amazing. This impressive capture has three key elements and they all stand out in different ways. The colour of the sky is so rich, the grass slightly out of focus makes you feel like you’re there. Of course the growling wolf is the standout, fantastic timing to align all these elements. I wonder if Eivor made it away alive. 5) Ratonhnhake:ton Game: Assassin’s Creed III The final capture of the week comes from @ nkeiiin over on Twitter. I thought it only right we end the showcase with Connor himself. What a stunning portrait of the Colonial Assassin. The black background with the light pouring down onto Connor adds such an epic feel to this capture. I love the positioning as it showcases the eagle on the hood and touches of the blue on his outfit. I am also won over by the fact the bow and arrows can been seen on his back. The first playable Assassin with a bow, such good times. Checkout the set below for two more breath taking shots. Link to set And that sums it up for this week’s Assassin’s Creed virtual photography recap list! Thank you for checking out this week’s photo collection. This would not be possible without the virtual photographers out there so a huge thanks to them. • Assassin’s Creed Virtual Photography: 1st to 12th January | TheOnesWhoCameBefore

Assassin’s Creed Virtual Photography: 1st to 12th January Community Share 23 Jan 2024 Written By: Edited By: Aaron Young Colum Blackett Back To Database Welcome to the biweekly virtual photography roundup hosted by Aaron Young from the AC Partnership Program. Every two weeks we will be picking our top 5 favourite Assassin’s Creed shots and showcasing them on The Ones Who Came Before website, in order to promote virtual photography and talented content creators within the community. This theme has been run by the TOWCB VP team. We have been monitoring the hashtag and the community hub to see all your wonderful shots. Keep an eye on the site as more shots are added, we are looking for captures across all Assassin’s Creed games. Tag your photos to #ACFirstCivVP for a chance to be featured. This week’s theme: Assassin’s Creed Witch Hunt Game: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla VP Artist: @ RossHiroAsmara The Ones Who Came Before Photo of the Week Judge: @ TuridTorkil I’ll probably never get enough of Rosshiro’s edits. This one stands out because of the beautiful background and the clear silhouette. The flaming sunset is an auspicious foreshadowing of the events that await us in AC Hexe. Great work! Aaron ( FalconSwift87 ) “You always fear what you don’t understand”. Codename Hexe has to be one of the most anticipated Assassin’s Creed games. The talk of the game taking a different approach has certainly helped with the hype along with the witch hunt vibes. I am very much hoping for a linier approach. This cool edit goes a long way to imagining what Hexe could look and feel like. The moody atmosphere is foreboding and the shadow work impressive. This would have been a great shot for our Halloween week. I love the church in the background with the sun setting and Eivor cloaked upon her horse. The addition of the Hexe logo really wraps up an impressive capture. Mists Game: Assassin’s Creed Mirage VP Artist: @ SubspaceNinja_ “Sometimes the face we show to the world needs to be one of strength, despite the chaos we harbour beneath.” Basim’s frequent encounters with the mysterious djinn add a level of complexity to an already fascinating character. These torturous nightmares that plague him throughout Assassin’s Creed Mirage, are directly linked to memories repressed by Loki. This beautiful capture embodies the feel of a man lost to himself. I adore how the details of the robe are highlighted, a genius move to use the water to help with the lighting. The white misty background adds that sinister feel, and Basim’s hidden face makes him seem like a shadow walker send to collect corpses. The Valhalla robes definitely have that perfect balance of Assassin/Loki with the spilt of white and black. This capture excellently shows Basim in his darker state. Reflection Game: Assassin’s Creed Odyssey VP Artist: @ UnfazedVP “Spartan’s never retreat.” If you ever wanted to live the Spartan fantasy, then Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is your game. Right from the off the game delivers epic moments, from the battle of Thermopylae to the glorious vistas that dominate the Greek world. This shot is from a breath-taking set that symbolises the brutal and beautiful story of Kassandra/Alexios. The wide view of this shot adds so much exquisiteness. Alexios looks powerful atop the cliff edge. The sun breaking across the water is elegant and the mountain rage on the horizon is gorgeous. The composition and lighting are immense and complete the shot perfectly. Birds Eye View Game: Assassin’s Creed Mirage VP Artist: @ CrimsonLenz “I feel its breath on my neck.” Enkidu is Basim’s eagle companion, and eye in the skies. Before Basim sets off to uncover the Order in Baghdad, he is gifted Enkidu by the Eagle master of Alamut. As Basim’s companion he locates targets and objects of interest in the world. In this shot we get to see the mysterious sand eagle that is inspired by the Prince of Persia series. The perspective and framing of this capture are outstanding. I am a big fan of the colour tones, as they really make Enkidu look like a bubbling volcano. The depth of field has been utilised effectively, with an almost cinematic feel. An awesome shot of an Assassin seeking his prey. Friend or Foe Game: Assassin’s Creed Mirage VP Artist: @ cop_filip “It’s better to have faith in something than nothing at all.” If you take the time to study the NPC’s roaming the streets of Baghdad, you will realise that the variety and detail is quite extraordinary. A lot of effort clearly went into building the best possible city filled with its various cultures and therefore styles. This elegant capture of a women wearing her hijab with stunning golden lining highlights the exquisite aspects in the game. The level of detail in this capture is quite something. The balance of light and shadows adds a mystique, but it is her eyes that look so impressive. Filip has a knack for taking shots that standout and this is probably one of his best, especially in Mirage. And that sums it up for this Assassin’s Creed virtual photography recap list! Thank you for checking out the photo collection. This would not be possible without the virtual photographers out there so a huge thanks to them. New Summer Roadmap for Assassin's Creed Shadows, Claws of Awaji DLC Release Date, and More Breakdown Share 30 Aug 2025 Written By: Edited By: Zephryss Colum Blackett Back To Database Ubisoft finally launched a new summer roadmap for Assassin’s Creed Shadows on July 24, 2025! Here’s everything you need to know about what’s coming to the game in the next few months. NEW GAME+ New Game+ is now available as soon as you complete the final story mission and credits have rolled. It will reset your Story and objective board progression as well as discovered locations but your character level, your acquired gear, skill points, Knowledge rank and your precious Hideout progression will remain untouched. When launching New Game+, you can choose to start again from the very beginning, reliving the important events of the Tensho War in Iga or you can fast-forward after the prologue to the moment Naoe inherits ownership of the Hideout. PROGRESSION UPDATE In the progression update the character level cap is now increased from 60 to 80 for all players whether you’re playing in NG+ or not. There are brand new Knowledge Ranks, new Mastery and Knowledge Skill ranks, and new upgrades for all Hideout buildings including new upgrades for Heiji’s Forge. One upgrade is coming with New Game+ and one coming with the next Summer update in September. NEW ANIMUS HUB PROJECT The 3rd Animus Hub project was launched on July 29. There will be new resources, data files, and exclusive Animus-themed rewards for you to collect. Remember, if you're still working on the first two projects, you can either finish them up or swap to the new Project. There's no time pressure. QUALITY-OF-LIFE IMPROVEMENT UPDATE The Quality-of-Life Improvement Update will be released in early September and packed with some of the most requested features from Assassin’s Creed community requests since launch. This update will come before the Claws of Awaji expansion and it will be free for all players. This update will include: - The world map unfogging after completing viewpoint synchronization (per region). - The ability to skip time-of-day, jumping ahead to dusk or dawn. - A new Forge upgrade level to reach Mythic (from Epic) and Artifact (from Legendary) equipment rarities. - Hideout Updates and Upgrades. - Uncapped framerate for cutscenes (PC only). - Additional goodies that may be familiar to long-time series fans. - Further bug fixes and stability improvements. CLAWS OF AWAJI DLC Ubisoft officially revealed that the Claws of Awaji DLC for Assassin's Creed Shadows will be released on September 16, 2025. If you pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you’ll be able to play it for free. Keep in mind, Claws of Awaji unlocks only after completing the main story of the game, so make sure you are ready! Ubisoft will share more details on the DLC soon. Although Assassin's Creed Mirage has not yet been released, we can't wait to learn more about the former-slave turned Hidden One we first met in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. This Week in Assassin's Creed Virtual Photography: 9th April - 15th 2022 Community Share 17 Apr 2022 Written By: Edited By: Aaron Young Ashlea Blackett Back To Database Welcome to the new weekly virtual photography roundup hosted by Aaron Young from The AC Partnership Program. Every week, we will be picking our top 5 favourite Assassin’s Creed shots and showcasing them on The Ones Who Came Before website, in order to promote virtual photography and talented content creators within the community. 1) Fox Games: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla This week’s first capture comes from @Gwyn_VP over on Twitter. A few weeks ago I featured a fox and now we have another one. This is such a cool capture! I love how the ears are up as if startled by Eivor’s presence, whist at the same time remaining hidden in the undergrowth. Valhalla is now the benchmark for foxes. Let see who can take the crown next. 2) Wingspan Game: Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Photo number two comes from @DanielDonner82 over on Twitter. Sticking with the animal theme I managed to find this brilliant shot of Ikaros. I am liking how much this showcases this beautiful bird. Nice use of the depth of field function to give the sense of Ikaros scanning the land from up high. The eagle is such a great symbol of Assassin’s Creed, and I hope it makes a return soon. 3) Traveller Game: Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood This week’s third shot comes from @giraph_1 over on Twitter. A first entry for Brotherhood in our VP collection. This picture looks more like a painting than an in-game screenshot. Ezio is so striking with his white Brotherhood outfit, particularly when up against the darker background. I love how the sun is blazing out from behind the castle. Such a fitting of capture of the Master Assassin. 4) Paris Game: Assassin’s Creed Unity VP number four comes from @Memento_Gallery over on Twitter. This capture is all about style and attention to detail. Unity never received the love it deserved, because behind all the issues, the game was on another level. An excellent capture of the street level sites that await around every corner when exploring this beautifully detailed game. I just really love everything about this photo. 5) Dragon Game: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla The final capture of the week comes from @Amaya_Nocturna over at the ACFirstCiv VP Twitter Community. Game of Thrones is exactly what I think of when looking at this shot. I am not the biggest fan of the mythical parts to Assassin’s Creed but this is cool. I really like how the dragon’s wings are in mid-flight, and the dark foggy background. This capture really makes the Dragon seem huge, when really it’s not much bigger than the Raven. And that sums it up for this week’s Assassin’s Creed virtual photography recap list! Thank you for checking out this week’s photo collection. This would not be possible without the virtual photographers out there so a huge thanks to them. Until next week keep those shots coming in. comments debug Comments Write a comment Write a comment Share Your Thoughts Be the first to write a comment. Mohamed: My name is Mohamed Abdelkader, I'm 21 years old and I'm from Egypt. I have been playing video games since my childhood, but when I started playing Assassin's Creed in 2010 my view of video games changed completely. It became much deeper, as I was able to complete all parts of the series in addition to the novels and the comics. In 2020, I started creating content for the Assassin's Creed series and I continue to do so to this day. Col: When did you first start playing Assassin's Creed games, and which one is your favourite? Mohamed: I started playing the Assassin's Creed series in 2010, and my favourite game for sure is AC III. Col: In regards to social media management, how much work have you put in behind the scenes to make things happen? Mohamed: Preparing the posts from 3 to 4 hours per day, every post on the page needs a lot of effort to become like this, in terms of summarizing or translating videos. Col: Do you have a favourite Assassin's Creed community moment/ story you would like to share? Mohamed: Definitely the best moment for me was when I was posting AC content on my page and members of other assassins creed community groups were viewing and engaging with my content and showing their support for the work i was doing. This really made me want to continue on the road to building my platform. Col: Have you had many opportunities such as event invitations / early access from Ubisoft or other companies due to your social media channels? Mohamed: Unfortunately, no, The Arab community is Limited, and only very few people are invited, you can almost count them on your fingers, but I do hope one day I will be lucky enough to get an opportunity. Col: How big is the Assassin’s Creed Community in your area? Mohamed: The Arab community is very large, even bigger than you think, but we do not have a big involvement directly with Ubisoft just yet. We hope that this will grow and develop in the future. Col: What are the challenges you have found in managing a community? Mohamed: The most difficult thing in managing a community is the desire to please all of the people who support my page. You never want to let people down, so its important to produce content that will appeal to different people. everyone has very unique views on the different topics we cover., so its interesting to see how peoples opinions differ so widely on certain topics and how their passion for the games, particularly their favourites, show through in their interactions. For example, every person has a certain game or a character they love, so if I say that Haytham Kenway is the best character in the series, someone with a passion for another game in the franchise could argue the opposite. Col: Do you have any plans for the future? Mohamed: Yes, in the future, I would like to start posting content on Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, but it takes some time. Patience is a good thing as this next step needs a lot of work and support from many followers. Col: What are some of your most recent Assassin's Creed projects, and are you working on anything currently? Mohamed: I am currently working on translating the summary of Assassin's Creed novels and comics into Arabic, as you know that these novels and comics are not yet translated into Arabic, so I wanted to help my community by translating them. Col: What advice do you have for people who want to create an Assassin’s Creed Community? Mohamed: I advise them, as I always advise my community, that they all be as one family. The games were made to bring us together, not divide us. They should also consider studying digital marketing because it is very important in our world, especially anything involving social media. They also should set goals for their own community, and support each other, as these are the foundations that must exist in any society. Col: Do you have much Assassin's Creed merchandise? If so, what is your favourite item? Mohamed: Having all the novels and comics in my library is a very wonderful thing, and when I look at them every day I become very happy. This is my goal, to collect all the novels and comics of the series. Col: Where would be your dream setting for an AC game? Mohamed: In Iraq, Baghdad is a great country with an ancient civilization. For example we would love to see more content referencing character such as Basim, as Arabs are eager to see more and more Arab content in Assassin's Creed. Col: Where do you personally think the series is heading to next, and are you excited for the future of Assassin's Creed? Mohamed: No new AC game was released last year (2021) and this made me very happy, when the series stopped after AC Syndicate, Ubisoft came to us with an even greater next instalment , Origins, with a vast world and huge content. So I am happy for the developers to take some time with the next game in the series and I believe that this will mean Ubisoft will have more and more in store for us in the future which will fascinates their players with all their unique games. Col: What is your favourite part of being a community member? Mohamed: The best thing about community management is that you always have the opportunity to solve problems between everyone, and if we talk about the Arab Assassin's Creed branch, the community manager always has the opportunity to show the beauty and greatness of the Assassin's Creed series to the rest of the fans, and to show the secrets hidden in the game, and guide them in the game as well. Col: Do you have any personal AC goals you would like to achieve? Mohamed: Yes of course, I hope one day to be a Ubisoft Star player, or participate in one of their projects and events that are held by the communities. We would like to say a huge thank you to Mohamed for joining us for this round of AC Community Questions! Although the game was short, it was well received by the overall gaming community and critics alike, as it returned the series to its roots, and took care in re-establishing cut features, creating a truly special game that acted as the ultimate tribute to the core identity of Assassin's Creed and it's fans. • Hidden Blades outside of Assassin's Creed | TheOnesWhoCameBefore

Hidden Blades outside of Assassin's Creed Other Share 11 May 2023 Written By: Edited By: Colum Blackett (Col_96) Ashlea Blackett Back To Database From time to time, eagle-eyed fans of the Assassin's Creed franchise spot similarities between the series and other TV shows or movies. In particular, weapons which carry a likeness to the iconic signature blade of the Assassins, The Hidden Blade. In this article, we will be looking at various concealed weapons outside of the Assassin's Creed series, some of which may have taken inspiration from the Assassin Brotherhood. Star Wars: Bo - Katan Kryze and the 'Gauntlet Blade' First introduced in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Bo - Katan Kryze sports a 'Gauntlet Blade', which will no doubt be familiar to fans of the Assassin's Creed series. Her movement is swift and clinical, as she takes down Imperial guards with ease. Of particular note is her ability with the weapon in Season 2 Episode of The Mandalorian titled ' The Heiress'. The Punisher: Billy Russo's Retractable Wrist Blade (Jigsaw) A former Marine and close friend of Frank Castle ( The Punisher ), Billy Russo is an interesting character who goes on to become 'Jigsaw' in the Marvel Cinematic Universe., a mask-wearing vigilante. His many betrayals lead to a life of pain, which eventually come back to haunt him. Working as a private contracter that specialises in weapons and training facilities, Russo fashions himself a silent weapon, The Hidden Blade, for stealth assassinations. He uses the blade to murder Morty Bennett , with a clean surprise attack. R usso was an expert at brutal hand to hand combat, making him a deadly foe for The Punisher to eliminate. Man of Steel: General Zod kills Jor-El Jor-El, a Kryptonian scientist is killed at the start of Man of Steel (2013), a scene which has a huge impact on the DCU, as it allows Kal-El (Superman) to escape Krypton and go on to live a life on Earth. In a thrilling chase by House El to escape the Kryptonian Military, Jor-El is killed by General Zod for breaking the rules of Krypton by bonding the cells of his child with tthe stolen Kryptonian Growth Codex, which contained the genetic makeup of Kryptonians prior to the introduction of a predetermination system which produced citizens fit to benefit society. To say that Kal-El is the physical embodiment of freewill due to his genetic makeup is a theme that certainly resonates with the Assassin's Creed franchise. The tragic introductary scene sees Jor-El relieved that his son Kal-El escapes Krypton, which he and fellow scientists theorise will be destroyed due to an unstable core. His relief is cut short though, as his former friend executes him with a retractable wrist-blade, leading to his arrest and imprisonment off-world, ultimately saving him from the fate of Krypton. Gotham: Talon members from The Court of Owls and the Wrist Blade In the Gotham TV Series, 'Talon' is a rank given to deadly assassins who act on the orders of a powerful elite shadow group known as The Court of Owls, who manipulate events from behind the scenes. Appearing throughout Season 3, only two members of the Talon wield the wrist blade, suggesting that it may only be given to high ranking members of the group, or to those who at excel at hand to hand combat. Deus Ex: Adam Jensen's Nanoblade Deus Ex: Human Revolution acted as a reboot for the franchise, taking players to a futuristic cyber-industrial world filled with corruption and social division. Through the use of augmentations, humans willingly select enhancements, upgrading their physical bodies by merging with technology. The main character, Adam Jensen is a security officer working for Sarif Industries , where he begins to uncover a conspiracy at the heart of the growing opinion that augmentations benefit society, orchestrated by the Illuminati acting through global megacorporations. After an attack leaves Jensen for dead, he is revivied by Sarif and his team who surgically install advanced augmentations, resulting in him becoming more cyborg than human. One of these enhancements is the Nanoblade: a deadly retractable blade installed in Jensen's arm p rostheses which can be used at close quarters to trigger special killmoves. It is long reaching and efficient, making it a useful took for Jensen as he investigates a disturbing secret hidden at the heart of society. Dr. Christian Szell's wrist knife from Marathon Man Dr. Christian Szell, known as Szell, or The White Angel of Auschwitz (played by Laurence Olivier) is the primary antagonist of the 1976 film Marathon Man. He is former Nazi scientist who used to torture the prisoners of Auschwitz through dental surgeries, but since leaving the camp went on to pursue international diamond dealing. After being recognised in the street for his crimes, Szell uses a weapon known as a 'wrist knife' to silence a man by slicing his throat. He then pretends to have simply found the man in an injured state, and calls for help from the crowd. In an effort to help the man, people approach hoping to assist, providing the perfect cover for Szell to leave the scene in a Taxi. Later in the film, Szell uses the blade to kill Henry 'Doc' Levy after suspecting that Doc is planning to steal his diamonds. This may be the first known use of a hidden blade outside of the Assassin's Creed series, as the Marathon Man conspiracy thriller novel by William Goldman released in 1974. • The AC Experience: Being a Background Actor in the Assassin's Creed Movie | TheOnesWhoCameBefore

The AC Experience: Being a Background Actor in the Assassin's Creed Movie Events Share 4 Jul 2022 Written By: Edited By: Preston Carbonaro Ashlea Blackett Back To Database Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day. My casting agent had called me one afternoon, in late July 2015, saying that extras were needed for an upcoming historical science-fiction movie. Would I be interested? Although I had no idea which one she was referring to at that time, I did have an inkling; rumours had already been spreading that scenes from the upcoming Assassin's Creed film were to be shot in Malta. So, of course, I jumped at the opportunity. Actor's note: At this early stage, very little information is given to extras, and they’re not informed of the film's actual title, so as not to give anything away in case they are not able to commit to the project. The following week I was called in for my costume fitting. By then the rumours had been confirmed, and when it came to putting on my costume, it struck me: I am actually a part of this! I am actually going to be in an Assassin’s Creed film! Actor's note: While the whole costume process can be tedious for some, it is actually very fascinating to witness first-hand. The colours, materials, textiles, different costumes and props. The amount of work that goes into making each costume (most of which are tailor-made) is nothing short of remarkable! Filming day arrived in early September, I recall. The scene being filmed that day was the one in which Aguilar and Maria are manacled to wooden posts, freeing themselves shortly afterwards and then engaging in an epic, fiery skirmish with the Spanish soldiers. Being on set truly felt like an escape from the real world. The 18th century Fort Manoel located in Gżira, Malta, was transformed into 15th century Seville. Hundreds of people were there. The attention to detail was phenomenal. The atmosphere was electric. And yes, I was there among the crowd, cheering on, as the two Assassins were about to meet their fate. Just like in the games, I felt as if I’d stepped into the Animus and been transported to an ancestor’s memory. I was physically and mentally there. Actor's note: Did you know? A typical working day for a background actor in a movie is around 13 hours long! Our task was fairly simple. Upon the director's call “ACTION!”, we were to start walking out from the middle of the wooden bleachers, while shouting, cheering, and jeering with fists raised high in the air, and slowly surround the middle platform. Upon which the main sequence took place. Clad in all that material, and with multiple takes being shot, on a scorching hot summer day in Malta, was rather gruelling. But despite this, it was one heck of an experience. After all, not everyone gets to say that they were in a movie based on their favourite video game franchise ever! How awesome is that?! Unfortunately, I didn't manage to exchange words with any of the main actors - Michael Fassbender and Ariane Labed - or with Fassbender’s stunt double, Damien Walters, who was also there. And of course, taking photos on set is prohibited. But I still consider myself privileged to have been in their presence, watching them work just a few metres away from where I stood. I am so thankful to have been given this opportunity! (And I’m hoping there will be more in the future.) A view of Fort Manoel from the sea Part of the piazza and chapel of Fort Manoel.
