Diving Into A World Of Adventure With @Jemmajamart

To celebrate the release of Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag Resynched – here are a couple of beautiful renditions of Edward Kenway that were created by the latest member to join The Ones Who Came Before Art Team; @Jemmajamart

The first centres around Edward performing the iconic Leap of Faith. @Jemmajamart is an accomplished artist and a long-time fan of the Assassin’s Creed series; who sought to represent the act in a way that would be seen as fresh, yet recognisable; with the focal point being Edward’s naturally confident demeanour as he, like the fans, dived back into a world of adventure.

Going deeper into their inspiration, @Jemmajamart explained that they; “wanted the piece to convey a sense of renewal...I imagined the bright colours of the summer atmosphere and the feeling of being back at sea after all these years.” as well as how they challenged themselves to draw out of their comfort zone to improve the overall composition of their drawing as it helped to “establish the feeling of adventure in the Caribbean setting,”

The second piece of art, once again created by the wonderful @Jemmajamart, was a humorous recreation of the photo of a cricket fan named “Muhammad Sarim Akhtar” - colloquially known as the “disappointed cricket fan” meme.

Created as a humorous nod to Edward’s posture in a pre-release glimpse at Edward Kenway’s redesign in Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flay Resynched. @Jemmajamart explained that they noticed how many fans had begun to make fun of his bad posture. “I decided to draw Edward with the same expression {as in the meme} almost as if he himself were fed up with everyone making fun of him.”
