Welcome back to another article in our Assassin's Creed Community Questions series. Made up of interviews with Assassins based around the world.

Today, we are joined by Samantha Morris! Who joined our Assassin's Creed Partnership Program in September 2026 as a member of the Writing Team and is based in the United Kingdom.

Col: Hi Sam thank you for joining me for this interview. Please could you tell us a little bit about yourself and your role within the Assassin's Creed Community.

Sam: Hi. Thank you so much for having me. I’ve recently joined the writing team and am looking forward to sharing articles in and around the real history behind Assassins Creed. I’m a published author and my specialty is in the Borgia family and Renaissance history, though I’ve recently started projects around both music and video game history. I’m also an avid gamer and have been since I was small. I love doing charity work and have done a lot of fundraising for Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) which, as a type 1 diabetic myself, is a cause very close to my heart.

Col: In September 2026, you joined The Ones Who Came Before's Assassin's Creed Partnership Program, known as the Isu_Network. Are you excited to work alongside the Writing Team?

Sam: I’m super excited to work with a group of such dedicated Assassins Creed fans. I’ve followed TOWCB now for a very long time so it is a real honour to work with an incredibly talented group of writers.

Col: Do you have a favourite piece of content?

Sam: I love the ‘on this day’ posts, especially when they compare the game and the real history. It’s fascinating to read and to learn new things.

________________________________________________________________________________________

Col: How excited are you for the future of Assassin's Creed?

Sam: Very much so! Seeing the way that the franchise has grown over the years has been an absolute pleasure and I look forward to seeing just how they continue the story. The idea of a game based on witchcraft and horror, with Hexe for instance, sounds right up my alley!

Col: Which Assassin's Creed game have you been playing recently, and which game are you playing next?

Sam: I’m actually playing Rogue for the first time ever! I’ve had it sat on my shelf for years now, still sealed, and given that I need to play through the entire series for my planned book on the history of the franchise, I thought it was about time I gave it a go. And I have to say, Shay is fast becoming one of my favourite characters.

Col: Have you visited any of the locations from the games?

Sam: Yes! As I’ve previously alluded to I’m a big Italian Renaissance history buff, so I’ve visited Florence and Rome. Both cities absolutely took my breath away, but Florence takes the win here. My partner and I would wander around each day pointing out various landmarks going ‘Oooo I climbed that with Ezio!”, “Oh no, that’s where Ezio’s family breathed their last!”. Both cities have also been very important to me professionally as part of the research for my previous works on the Borgia family and Savonarola.

Col: Which Assassin's Creed game is your favourite and why?

Sam: This is probably a given considering my love of the era, but Assassins Creed 2. There’s just something so incredibly magical about the game from its music to its locations and its cast of iconic characters. Ezio Auditore has to be one of the greatest video game protagonists of all time and the way we see him change throughout the years is just brilliant.

Col: Have you attended any events within the Assassin's Creed Community?

Sam: I’ve attended gaming events in the past but never anything specifically to do with Assassins Creed. Hopefully one day soon!

________________________________________________________________________________________

Col: Do you have a favourite Assassin's Creed community moment/ story you would like to share?

Sam: The excitement when Assassins Creed Black Flag Resynched was announced was absolutely insane in the best of ways. I’ve rarely seen such a reaction for a game announcement, but when it happens it's truly incredible.

Col: What would be your dream setting for the upcoming AC Netflix TV show or future game?

Sam: This is a question that I have long pondered as there are so many historical eras that I think would work really well for the franchise. I’d like to say that the English Civil War would be a good one - the war between King and Parliament could very well provide a good backdrop to the Assassin Templar conflict. I would particularly like to see something like this told from the point of view of the Templars.

Hit me up if you’d like to discuss, Ubisoft!

Col: Do you have any personal AC goals you would like to achieve?

Sam: One day I would love to sit down with Roger Craig Smith for an interview about his time as the iconic Ezio Auditore da Firenze.

Col: What would you say is your most significant community achievement to date?

Sam: It has to be signing to write a book on the history of Assassins Creed. The franchise has meant so much to me for so long that I wanted to create a love letter to it in the written medium. It won’t be out for a while, which gives me time to replay the games, but its going to be incredible when it finally starts taking shape.

________________________________________________________________________________________

Col: What is your favourite part of being a community member?

Sam: I love how everyone in this space is so kind and welcoming - which is rare these days when it comes to fandom communities.

________________________________________________________________________________________

Col: Do you collect AC merchandise? If so, what is your favourite item?

Sam: I don’t have a huge amount of Assassins Creed stuff, simply because of space limitations. But my partner and I are huge collectors of physical media, so we have disc copies of every game. I also have a little figure of Cesare Borgia from Assassins Creed Brotherhood which is all kinds of adorable, and I’m kind of in love with it.

Col: What advice do you have for people looking to get into writing?

Sam: A blank piece of paper might look scary, but once you get that first word down it becomes like breathing. Be brave and take that step, because you could produce something magical. Also, as the great Stephen King says - if you want to get into writing then read; read and read some more!

Col: Where can our community members find you online?

Sam: I can be found on my author socials - @smorrisauthor on both Twitter/X and Instagram. My website is www.samantha-morris.co.uk if anyone would like more information on my past and upcoming work. I can also be found lurking around in the streamer spaces under the name Peralt.
